Sourced from a small bronze statue of Dionysus called Narciso from Pompeii. AD 79. The wine-skin over his shoulder and the gesture of hand suggest a warning about wine, but the inclination of the head perhaps shows some understanding.

Adapted from the bronze Zeus or Poseidon from the sea at Artemisium. c460-450 BC. Athens. I have changed the green bronze to a lively red. The figure is contained in a safe space where thunderbolts or tridents can do no harm.

The bronze statue of a boy retrieved from a wreck off Marathon. c340 – 300 BC. Some interpretations of the figure have him as Orpheus stringing his lyre. I have him entering a dark place.

This tiny elegant figure dives through time. I have placed him in an eternal blue-green of the sea that surrounds Crete.
